CONNECTION GUIDE

How to mirror Apple TV to iPhone

Connect Apple TV to your iPhone with ChMirror, complete pairing, take screenshots and record video with Pro. Learn how to save and share your captures.

Menus and pairing prompts may vary by operating system version. Follow the instructions currently shown on your devices.

1. Get both devices ready

Connect Apple TV and iPhone to the same local network where they can discover each other. Apple TV may use Ethernet while iPhone uses Wi-Fi; what matters is that the devices can communicate.

Open ChMirror on iPhone and allow local network access.

If you previously denied access, find ChMirror in system Settings and check the local network permission.

Guest networks or network isolation may prevent device discovery.

2. Check AirPlay on Apple TV

Find AirPlay in Apple TV Settings (called AirPlay and HomeKit on some versions). Make sure AirPlay is enabled and allows access from devices on the same network.

Settings can differ between tvOS versions. Follow the instructions on your device; you do not need to start by changing access to Everyone.

3. Choose Apple TV in ChMirror

On iPhone, open the Devices page in ChMirror. Wait for discovery, then choose your Apple TV. If the list is empty, check network access and permissions before scanning again.

4. Follow the pairing prompts

When asked for a code, enter the code shown on the other screen. Follow the current prompts on both devices; the same sequence of code entry is not required for every connection.

Successful pairing does not mean a picture has arrived yet. Keep ChMirror in the foreground and wait for the mirror display. If connection fails, return to Devices and retry.

5. Take Apple TV screenshots or record the screen

Once the mirror picture appears, use the screenshot control to save a frame. Free screenshots include a watermark; Pro removes it.

With Pro, start recording and stop to save. Stopping a recording does not end mirroring, so you can save separate recordings in one connection. Some protected content may not allow mirroring or recording.

6. View and share

You can view an individual recording after it is saved. End mirroring and open Library to browse screenshots and recordings, preview, share, save to Photos or export to Files.

Media is saved in the app first. Saving to Photos is a separate manual action. If photo access is denied, check the system permission and retry; the in-app original may still be available.
